I would try and get your money back and go with an ATS, ATS, ATS, or tilton ...like mike said in an earlier post there are several guys out here in AZ running the ATS carbon carbon, and none of us have had any problems....just my .02.

$2400 is rediculous IMO but I am sure that includes the steel floaters that are probably toast. But the Tilton carbon plates are going to be a more than 200 each and the floaters would have to be changed on top of that as well. Carbon floaters are probably around the same price as the discs. It it is a triple disc, you are talking 7 plates in total. Of course the Tilton is carbon/carbon, not carbon/steel like the Exedy.

Yeah that a joke. I rebuild triple disk clutch setups for dumptrucks at work. Floaters are like 80 bucks each and a way wya biger than exedy parts. A whole clutch is like $1400 and thats for a 10ton dump truck man. How are they getting way with these prices?

They keep giving me excuses as to why they think the disc were worn out. blah, blah, blah

They are offering to sell me another at a discounted price, but get this, if this "next" clutch has ANY issues, they will warranty it. WTF?

So he says they will warranty the second but not the original I bought? Anybody see the scam here? Looks like they just want me to spend more money on their product.

Well my triple cerametallic finally took a dump on me at the track the other day. Still 250+ passes slipping the crap out of it, so I give the triple cerametallic a thumbs up. Now I will see how much it costs to rebuild one of these *****es and let you guys know.

I really dont think you can call it junk.

HUH? so wait... we ran a stock factory clutch for the entire one lap... it held up just fine. Actually this is the same stock clutch that has been in the car for the last 15,000 miles, and did last years one lap and a bunch of track days too. To me that is a real test, having a factory clutch last that long. Not a 3k dollar clutch, for that much money it shouldn't even be a concern.

Now about the car in this thread,

It is really sad when you have a big money clutch like this one, that doesn't make it a year, that isn't abused, and wasn't installed incorrect. I know as I have seen, tuned, wrenched on this car. The driver isn't an idiot nor a 16 year old kid that rides the clutch all the time.

This also isn't the first time I have seen issues with Exedy. We once installed a brand new single carbon clutch on a "bone stock STI". To our huge suprise the clutch wouldn't hold the power, even with a stock sti. So after driving the car for like 10 miles and doing 2 pulls on the dyno, we removed the single clutch and sent it to Exedy to have them look at it. Clearly this clutch must have been defective since it didn't even hold the power the stock STi was making. Again to our Huge suprise Exedy told us the clutch was perfectly fine and we were just over powering the clutch. WTF!!!! They then told we would have to use this clutch on a vehicle with lower power. hahaaha, so now I have a very expensive paper weight sitting on display... as there is no "lower power" stock STI.

sorry for the rant..

what is this debate even about? i feel like this is a big discussion on how many ways you can do **** wrong... cuz every one of you is doing something wrong with the exception of the people that haven't broken their clutch.

do you cool your clutch down?

do you warm it up?

did you break it in?

did you pick the right clutch for your application?

was it installed right?

were the plates aligned, ONCE AGAIN WAS IT INSTALLED RIGHT?

do half of you even know what went wrong in your clutch? do you have pictures? can you identify the problems? can you identify the cause? if not... all you're doin' is embarassing yourselves.

but that's also cuz tiltons are made to be rebuilt cheap... the exedy has always been known to be rebuild UNfriendly, particularly pricewise, everyone should know this...
