Sounds like he has no respect for his evo. The ix is a beast to begin with, think properly bout your mods. They are tons of threads that prove that adding an exhaust or intake system without tune is pretty much useless on a ix. So to answer your question, there is nothing wrong with the 9, just your way of "tooning".

 

i was there last night, a kid took off wit his car n was beatin the hell out of it..n i guess he hit a big *** speed bump or some **** like that n messed up the downpipe n other things...n yes hes got to ams...those were the parts that eric told him to get so he did....i tested the car myself...i turned it on n it was idling bad. the car wanted to die out, but i took it out for a drive n the car was idling strong at 800 rpms. i let the car cool down n turned it on again.. same thing.. the car idled strong...so i have no idea wat was up wit the car in the first place...granted i didnt get to check under the hood
