Question evo 9 turbo on evo 8 question

i was just wondering if anyone out there knows for sure whether or not a 9 turbo will bolt directly up on an 8 without modification. are the oil/coolant lines the same? if not, which should be used? i assume it bolts to the manifold fine, but what about the elbow that leads to the IC piping? is it the same? if not, which one do you use? please only give answers to these questions if you know for sure. thanks.

Some of the oil and coolant lines will have to be bent. You will need an Evo 9 turbo outlet pipe to clear the starter.

thanks for the info. was it a nice difference swapping to the 9 turbo? i see you're running one in your sig. also, which lines did you use 8 or 9? are they a PITA to bend or is this something a mechanically inclined person can accomplish easily? thanks again.

Outlet pipe on the 8 will fit the 9.

But you will have to re-position the starter cable because it comes to close to the pipe.

Mine did not hit but it was close so I just re-positioned mine just in case.

Your choice though.

It was a pretty noticable difference. I used the stock 8 lines. They have to be bent to clear the bigger housing and it's pretty easy.

alright, thanks man. sounds like a pretty straightforward swap. one more question, the 9 elbow connects to the 8 IC pipes without modifying, right? also, do you hyave any before/after dyno #'s?
