280's and starting

ok so my question is when starting an evo with 280's does everyone here have to give the car a little gas. my sometimes will start without giving it gas but then other times will kinda start and go up to like 600rpms and then dye, but if i just give a little gas the car starts fine and then idles fine. every once and a while if im drive in traffic and am only going to like 2k and then shift it can dye, but then starts right back up. i knew that the car would not be the same and it doesnt really bother me i just wonder if this is the same ith wveryone with 280's.

I dont need to give teh car any gas ... I've stalled in traffic/on the freeway ... Sometimes the car is great- some times the car feels like it just wants to stall =P

ya mine feels the same way. and at the start its only sometimes and only a little gas not really anything. its weird i think when its almost TDC it starts b/c its not have to rotate it as much but then other times if it has to do a full rotation on its own from the start it doesnt like that.

Before my ECU was flashed I had this problem because the idle was so lopey. I haev a steady idle now but sometimes when I push the clutch in real fast at low RPM's my car dies.

Is your car tuned for the cams? If not try turning up the idle adjust screw.

Get a flash and your problems will be taken care of. This is what you need to do bring your idle up to 1000 rpm add timeing be careful when adding timeing to idle, Add a lil more gas and that should kill that problem. Then just have the tuner do the rest of the power band.

What kind of 280's are you guys running and what kind of engine management do you have? I have HKS 280's and a dynoflash from big Al and I haven't had any of these problems. Idle is steady and the car starts right up. It has never died (stalled) on a hot or cold day. The idle is a little lumpy compared to stock but for that sacrifice I wouldn't trade the 280's in for anything.

Ive got 272s and it does that every once in a while. I just rev it a couple times and then it will idle ok. I think im going to raise the idle to around 950, should solve it.
