Boost leak test.

So I did a boost leak test and the air just hissed out of the top of the valve cover. Ive looked at pics of other engines and this seems to be connected to something with a hose. Could this be the source of my boost leak?

You sure that's where it came from? I just have a breather filter on that nipple and no air comes out...

i made the thing from Vfaq's and used an air compressor. I would pump air through the device that i made and it would just hiss out the top. I wasn't sure if i should plug it or not so i didn't.

You may check to see if it's going through the PCV valve.

+1

You really should block off before the TB, but yess the PVC check valve shouldnt let air by under boost. This will cause abnormal amount of oil consumption

Wait, to reallly understand why this is happening, what portion of the system are you pressurizing?

I usually apply pressure at the first IC pipe off the turbo and cap the TB pipe, and apply pressure at the BOV nipple.
