How is the spoolup with this setup?
The ATP is a Garrett housing that has been machined to work with this turbo. It is the Garrett/ATP housing. Spoolup is awesome. 22psi @ 4200 in 2nd, 22psi @ 3900 in 3rd and 22psi @ 3600 in 4th. These are not absolutes as there has been slight variation due to numerous factors on the road, but these seem to be the norm within 1-200rpm.

Awesome, but how much power is it making and what kind of times are you running?

I'll be going back at the end of the month with bigger cams. Should gain quite a bit over current cam set up since they were sized for the stock turbo. These numbers are roughly 409whp on a dyno jet. I ran a 12.1 @ 117mph on the stock turbo, 21psi,93 only. Haven't run on current set up yet. Still have the stock clutch, and I don't want to kill it before I dyno again with the new cams.

Hello,

I really would like to try that new T3 .78 divided housing on my GT3071....

do you think then I'm going to loose top power going from a normal .63 to a divided .78 ?

ATP wrote me:

will improve power potential without sacrificing any spoolup time. "

What do you think ?

Modified garrett housing? What was it originally intended for? How does it fit both the 30r and the 35r turbine? This is interesting stuff.........working with a company currently to have a divided t3 built for my dsm and just trying to soak up as much info as I can. My turbo is a gt3082r.

Not modified garrett housings, they are made by ATP for Garrett turbos, they only make one A/R right now which is more suited towards the smaller 30R's.

They are in fact modified Garrett housings. ATP machines them so that a GT series CHRA will bolt into them.

Drifto is correct, it is a modified Garrett housing from a tractor application.

Just ate my socks, why do we see no other A/R options? Or are they out there in this "divided t3" flange shape

You see no other A/R options primarily because it appears to be intended for a single application.

They really should make some larger a/r options.

IMO .78 is really only good for a 3071r, it obviously works on a 3076r, but I dont think it's ideal.

If they came out with larger housings this would be a great choice for 3065r/3082r's or 35r's and bigger. Something along the lines of the twin scroll T4 a/r housings, .85, .95, 1.06 etc.

Just seems like a lot of work to fab a manifold, and then it only be useful for a couple turbo's, and not one of them considered "large"

Driving it removes all doubts as to if the fabrication effort was worth it. The setup delivers incredible response and excellent power. It completely erases any negativity regarding spool characteristics of the GT 3076R. If I were contemplating a GT 3076R, I'd duplicate Drifto's setup without a second thought.

Even so, the 3076r is kind of a useless turbo IMO. Go with a Green if you want a smaller turbo. I'd skip the 3076r and go with a 3065r/3082r if you want more power and are willing to sacrifice a little spool.

Still seems like a lot of work fabricating a manifold for a turbo that's not the greatest choice to begin with. I cant imagine Drifto has sold very many of these.

If there were more twin scroll T3 housings available this would be a great option, without the additional options, I still dont think it's worth it.
