Q on HKS RS intake

Is it necessary to get my ECU reflash after HKS RS intake? Am I running too lean with this intake?

yes you need a flash with the intake... you will see some gains without the flash but you have no idea what the differences are until you get one... and you will correct your car running rich or lean... in my case with my intake and no tune, im running rich... or at least i sure smell like it

Just drop-in a panel filter in your airbox, much better.

Also, keep in mind that HKS filters don't really filter that well.

I don't know how many of these guys have an HKS rs intake, but I have one so I will tell you that it DEFINITELY makes power ...even without a tune. BUT! you will make more power with a tune. I'd wait till you got other things ...like a turbo back and a fuel pump or something then get it all tuned at once.

as for the filter, call "OUTERWEARS" and ask for the custom outerwears filter used for the evolution HKS filter. It'll cost you 22 dollars ship and help the filtering a lot.

...I don't exactly remember the outerwears site, but google is your friend.

+1, I was able to make a bracket and installed the APEXI filter to my HKS RS intake. Great intake and now a great filter.

sometimes installing an aftermarket intake can mess with your ecu like it did to mine if you don't tune your ECU. sometimes you'll loose power too, it all depends on the car. some evos are more sensitive than the others
