18g turbo

quick question. im thinking of buying this turbo. its a greddy turbo type 05H-18g. it has a mitsubishi logo on it cold side. serial number 041108019

my concern is that its a t2 flange with a 5 bolt exhaust like you would see on the sr20det. im wanting to hook this up to my stock manifold. do they make a hotside so i can switch it out to fit my evo 8 manifold and 02 housing?

im currently running evo 8 turbo (9.5) on 20lbs. would it be worth it going to that turbo. im reading that its lag of a 20g but power of a 16g.

thanks very much.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that turbo would be SMALLER than the stock VIII turbo. So it would be a downgrade. And not only are our manifolds T3 flanges, they are twin-scroll. So this other turbo in question would also have to have a twin-scroll flange.

stock evo 8 turbo is 16g correct? how would this turbo be smaller if its 18g. just wondering. yes i understand that they are twin scroll flage. thats the reason im asking if they make a hot side housing i can swap this t2 out for the evo twin scroll style. didnt know if anybody had anything on this. or if i were to buy a hot side housing from a 18g Kinugawa turbo. i see they make conversion kits for the evo 8 turbo to become a 18g or 20g now. comes with manifold and stuff but its just as expensive as buying a evo 9 turbo. reason i want the greddy is because hes selling it for 100 bucks. thanks

If you are planning to buy a used turbo for $100 and expect it to work, you're going to be disappointed.

The stock Evo 8 turbo is a TD06 housing.

Let's start at the beginning - what are your goals for this turbo? Are you looking for quick spool-up and an increase in power over the stock Evo 8 turbo? Are you planning to do this on a tight budget? If so, buy a used Evo 9 turbo and have it inspected/rebuilt if need be.
