HKS Reloaded vs. HKS RS Filter Replacement

I have the regular hks rs intake and when i want to switch the filter, because of the tight fit, i have to dissassemble everything but my friend has the hks reloaded and he can just take the filter part off and change the filter

is the charge pipe or the filter a different size between the two? or is this just with my rs.

thanks!

according to HKS USA, the inlet size is 100mm and the element size is 200mm. both the new RS and RS reloaded AND SMF and SMF reloaded are the same size. but the filter surface offer 30% more surface area for the new reloaded kit.
which reloaded kit does your friend have? smf reloaded or RS reloaded?
I am thinking about getting the HKS intake too, what kind of performace gain do you feel the most? thx

The HKS Rs intake or Rs reloaded are known to be one of the best intakes for the evo although the filter isn't the greatest. Some people just change out their filters more often, cover them with outerwear filtercovers, or stick another filter on the intake pipe(apexi, kandn,etc.). You might not see any power gain with just the intake but a actual power loss as the intake will make the car run lean the the ecu will compensate by dumping more fuel hence the power loss. You best bet is to get all your bolt ons(full exhaust including o2housing,etc.)then bolt on the intake and fuel pump on the night before your tune, get your tune, and enjoy.

HKS rs is a great intake. But definitely needs to be tuned to make good power.
