IX MR exhaust manifold

So far I have the mods that are in my sig (obviously), want to know what is being recommended as far as an exhaust manifold, what fits, what are people liking and seeing good gains (approx hp) and appearance from? AND should I do the exhaust manifold b4 I get my dynaflash tune so that can be included in my mod list or doesn't it matter? Thanks in advance

port your stock manifold, most aftermarket manifolds tend to crack and some will lose power.

The ONLY negatives I can come up with for that is A) Being without the car for a bit of time while that's getting done, and B) the stocker looks like crap all rusted and sh*t... I could have them coat it too while it's there yes, but I really like the look of some of the stainless ones out there... What kind of gains might I notice from having them port it and does it matter which order I go between that and the flash?

get it coated and then buy a aftermarket heatshield, it will look better. get the flash if your deciding between the two. then search these boards for stock manifold, then you send then to buschur racing and he will port and coat them. no down time for you and you can sell your stock manifold to somebody else.

I thought you buy the Buschur manifold and its a core return...so you wait for your new ported/coated piece to come in, then when you take your stocker off you send it back and then Buschur refunds some of your money. There shouldn't be any downtime except when you actually are swapping the manifold.

What type of gains should I expect? Is it a bad "bang for buck" mod?

sounds like its not even really worth it then, its mainly for looks only. Seems like another route would be money better spent as far as performance gains if Im only gonna get 5-8hp... Thanks for the info tho.

how much you get out really depends on what you already have in...basically what im saying is there isnt a set number of hp you get because it depends on what mods you have already. the main difference is in top end, it will pull much better.

not sure what the manifold itself did, but on my friend's 2005 VIII, he dyno'd more 20hp to the wheels with an o2 housing, ported/coated stock mani, and AMS LICP

not sure the difference in gains between the VIII and IX's...

Minimal gains, probably one of the last stock turbo mods you should do.

The ONLY way to go is BR ported and coated, or full race. These are the only two manifolds proven to add power. Full Race manifolds = $1000, so i think it's an easy choice .

Not to mention tubular headers cracking.
