Yeah, now this is all based on assumptions on my behalf but the fact that Full-Race uses a computer program that can model the ideal path for the air to flow gives me great confidence in the fact that there products work, and the results usually speak for themselves. i.e. go and find me an underperforming Full-Race kitted car

makes sense, i have to agree with the underperforming full-race car, havent seen one yet. i read that... kinda off topic here but i read this comment from geoff on their forum anyone have any insight as to what a tangential housing is? I did a search and came up with NOTHING.

Thanks

If you buy a gt35R from another supplier, it will likely come with the wrong turbine housing for our manifold and downpipe. you MUST use a 2.75" outlet Garrett style 4 bolt tangential housing.

The tangential housing I believe he is taking too is just the exhaust housing that comes on the 35R's direct from Garrett, it's the piece that connects the turbo to the downpipe.

yeah i understood that but i didnt get the "tangential" part... he said any other hot side will hit the AC unit so the tangential is a must.

That's a tangential housing which is typically seen on our cars. There are Divided housings(like ones used on GT42s and such) and on-center housings, and other housings available in T4 housings.

Tangential is they style of the exhaust side housing of the turbo.. Another type, the on-center design, had the flange for the exhuast more centered on the turbine housing.

When they say that it has to be a tengential, it is because the others are different shapes/sizes.. Also tengential is suppose to give more power throught the band compared to an on center housing.

Yeah what they all said. Tangential means that where the exhaust gas hits the turbine it is Tangent to the turbine. Meaning that if you were to draw a line between the wheel and the center of the inlet/flange it should be hit directly at the end/tip of the wheel in that given location.

A tangent line hits a circle in exactly one place, think the same thing except the line is exhaust gas and the circle is the turbine wheel.

Full race is the bomb its worth every penny. There's a budy of mine running a full race kit that car lays down some crazy power on a 35R.

Meh, a manifold is a manifold if the designs are made w/ some knowledge. It's close enough and unless you want every ounce of perfection with the rest of your setup, I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are bigger things to worry about. It's like asking which exhaust is better when they're both 3" and straight as can be.
