exedy stage 2 just installed

Hello everyone, just got an exedy stage 2 in my EVO IX MR, and it is great. Just a few questions though, is the clutch supposed to be making a noise, kinda like its grinding gears, when you start off in fist and in reverse. I know its supposed to chatter, but i have never driven a car that had an upgraded clutch, and dont know what it sounds like. And also now when i switch through the gears quick, like im racing, it makes a real loud "bonk" from the rear diff . Is this normal, i know the clutch holds better now, but the stock one never made that noise. I would appreciate any comments back.

you might need to adjust the clutch pedal from inside. when i did a stage 2 in a customers car wehad to adjust it a little bit. there shouldnt be grinding just chattering.

You got the 4-puck cerametallic single disk? Just making sure we're talking about the same Stage 2. I didn't know people knew it was available unless I had told them, so it's surprising to see someone random mention it.

Mine does chatter some at idle, but it doesn't grind or anything getting into 1st or reverse. You also can easily cause the driveshaft to thump against the rear carrier bearing with hard shifts or mis-timed shifts. The clutch is extremely grabby, so you need to learn to rev match. When it comes time to race, you will be able to powershift effortlessly...

Yea its the one with the 4 puck clutch, it is really grabby. It doesnt chatter at all not even at low RPMs, it jsut makes that grinding noise, i will adjust it and see what happens. Does yours let up high off the ground also?

My Exedy Carbon Twin Plate Clutch Grinds sometimes into second and reverse. Thought it was something wrong with the transmission ... maybe just the clutch then huh ...

Thats the thing, It doesnt grind when i put it in the gear, its when im releasing the clutch and start to move, it make that sound, only in the gears that actually have to move the car from a stop (first and reverse). Other than that all the gears go in good and effortlessly.

You can adjust the clutch, but for testing purposes, I set my clutch at the top, at the bottom, and at the middle. The clutch engagement points were different, of course, but all of those settings worked fine. I ended up setting it in the middle or slightly closer to the top from middle. I can powershift effortlessly with no grinding in every gear with every setting.
