for those interested these were the parts I used:

Block was found at the junk yard

Pistons are just off the shelf "custom" pistons from the Wiseco catalog. I am using the .20 over bore piston which is part number k548m87.

Rods are just your standard eagle rods that you would buy for the evo8.

I am using ACL bearings which I purchased from Jackson Automachine.

The crank is the same 4g64 I got out of the of the junk yard engine. The crank was in good shape so I had it balanced and just reused it.

Headgasket is a custom cometic headgasket because they do not make one for my 87mm bore.

But sweet numbers any way

He doesn't use the whole 4g64 motor. That's just where the 100mm crank (for a 2.3) or entire short block (for a 2.4) comes from. It's used with the 4g63 head to get the stroker motor configuration

what was it like when you had problem with your wastegate actuator? How did the car react. I am trying to narrow down a problem of my own, nice numbers by the way.

nice choice in motors. everyone out here running the 2.4s love 'em, but I hope you have a better experience with the eagle rods than I did.

cometic makes a 1.4mm MLS headgasket to accomodate an 87mm bore, RRE sells it, I just ordered it last week, I too am building a 2.4 block with eagles and custom designed RRE pistons

Actually we set redline to 7400 on the 2.4L. Needs more CFMs now.

Car came to me with a torn WGA diaphram that I fixed while on the dyno. Went from 26psi minimum to 14psi once fixed.

Settled on 22psi as reported by the Dynojet, however it may have actually been a little less.

The dynojet reported 38psi when I ran my car on it and was about 5psi high with the cheap GE pressure transducer it used.

Car should be a monster once it gets enough blower to supply adequate boost.

I agree the boost was less than 22psi. The Greddy gauge and the GM map sensor report 20psi in 4th and like 19psi in 2nd-3rd. I turned it up a bit last night and it felt a bit stronger .
