A modified fuel pump and the numbers are ground off? If there made specially for buschur then why are the numbers ground off? I'm sorry but now i've heard it all.........

Specially modified by an individual perhaps, not Walbro. The numbers would be ground off to keep it from being misidentified as a regular '342'.

 

I now have this pump, on the dyno my car was leaning out to 12.5+ no matter what we did with FP or duty cycle, pulled the car off the dyno swapped in that pump and and logged a run down the road, 10.0 A/F! I run that pump and another external 255(AMS kit) and now have plenty of fuel even on 1000cc injectors.

 

i have 1200cc inj with ams fuel sys. plenty of fuel with the 1200s

 

I forget, is the AMS kit just added inline with that one?

 

So please help me understand...
Is it a modified Walbro or another brand of fuel pump?
I'm asking because i heard of many Walbro pumps failure...
Is it possible to know the BR pump's flow at 73 and 80 psi, at 13.5 volts?

It's a modified walbro pump that flows more than the regular walbro 255.

Modified Walbro pump = a way to charge more for the pump hehe. Plus it says it outflows more at 100psi, but no one runs 100psi of fuel pressure on a walbro. I would like to see what it does at 43 to 45 psi when injector spray pattern is optimal.

 

Does anyone know offhand if the Walbro 342 and Walbro 340 pumps are interchangeable? Do they have the same external dimensions and flow #´s? Sorry, if this veers a bit OT. I guess I wanna know if the 340 will work on our Evo´s.

 

I run an unmodified Walbro 342 with average mods and I see 70psi all the time on my gauge with the stock FPR intact, so I don't know how you're gonna get your "optimal spray pattern" at 43 to 45 psi on any pump other than maybe the stock one. Good luck making a lot of power on that one. I don't even have an upgraded turbo, so I would imagine someone running a GT35 or larger turbo on C16 at 35psi would be VERY likely to hit 100psi.

 

Im running this pump and another standard 255 with a base pressure of 60psi and it works great on 1000cc injectors.
