Custom Turbo Kit Guys!!!!!

Who's running what turbo on a DNP/ Shearer/ RNR....ect Manifold and what kinda power and spool are you looking at. Also What problems did you run into during install? Looking for a cheaper solutions than a 5000 off the shelf turbo kit. OR a used piece of junk, Im not affarid of a little welding, But im not making a manifold.

we are using rnr's mani coated (swain).... everything else is custom, the ic, turboback, piping, intake, dump tube, etc...

i dont have logs on the 35R we were running, but i think we were seeing 23.5 psi on pump around 4800 rpm..... using a utec...

now i am using a 2.3 JAM motor, with the same setup, coated though, and going to run a flash for a bit...

the mani works nice, and looks very nice coated...

cb

(i like that HAFE, slowboy cast mani though)

Yes, I'm looking forward to receiving mine. Should have it in about a week and I plan on doing an extensive writeup and installation VFAQ.

Nothing against those other companies with the tubular manifolds, their craftsmanship and fabrication skills are top notch, but a street car demands a cast manifold IMO.

My car IS a Street Car, thats y im asking. i drive it 365 days a year, All Day, id like to give it some extra grunt i think going with a dnp mani and possibily a 50 trim or fp or some sort i leave myself open to some nice options, im looking for 475-500 Wheel on race about 450-460 on pump plus meth, and 420ish on 93 all on the Stock bottomend. im not going to go with a strocker ever nor do i want to, i like the rev of the 2.0 makes good fun on the highway.

The only problem you will run into with a full custom is money.

Yeah you will have money left over for other things. I bought a DNP T4 header used with 600 miles for $300. A Precison GT 37 turbo used for like 10 dyno pulls on a Honda Civic with H22, he made 604 whp at 30psi for $700. I got lucky and bought a brand new Tial 40mm WG for $200. So far I have $1200 invested, all I need to do is fab a o2 housing which will be about a $100. I have all the lines and little stuff like that already. So if your patiant and wait tell the deals come along you can put one togather for low cost.....

Is it more expensive to do it the right way? Or is it worth settling for what everyone else is doing?

That's up to you, my friend.
