TRE probably the most inconsiderate shop ever

I sent my transmission up to Jon a bit over 5 weeks ago. Up until about 2 weeks ago he told me that parts were on national back order so the transmission was never able to get assembled.

Jon was really nice to me, when I could get him on the phone. Always willing to help and answer any questions I had.

He told me my transmission would FINALLY be ready to ship out last tuesday (7/25/06) and ready to go as soon as he recieved payment of 2195.62 for my 6-speed tranny rebuild.

My money orders got to him on the 26th and he told me the transmission would be in the mail that day. I thought great. It took 4 days to send it from houston,tx to kalamazoo, mi so it should take the same time give or take a day.

Well the transmission has been in the mail 7 days now and has still not come back to houston yet.

For the past 3 days I have called at least 4 times a day trying to get them to answer, emailed about 3 times,PM'd him on here at least 2 times, and even called one of his employee's who called me on his cell phone once (I saved his number since the regular number is hard to get through to sometimes)

On the 4th day that I'd been waiting I called them and asked them to please give me the tracking number. Jon got on the phone and told me to hold on a sec. I was at work at the time so I didn't have long but I said sure. 25 minutes later I hung up because that is extremely inconsiderate. Needless to say I couldnt get an answer for the rest of the day.

I called up the employee of his the next day (day 5) to ask him if he could get it for me. He said sure he'd go grab it real quick. a minute later he said "hey hold on a second, whats your number? let me call you right back with it". I said sure thats fine and gave him my cell number. Never recieved a call back.

Day 6 I called the shop more, no answers. Then I called his employee's cell again and left a voicemail saying i hadn't heard back from him or anyone there and to please get back to me.

Its not like I'm asking for something thats going to take an hour to explain but this is MY tracking number. I paid for the shipping to be returned here and they need to give it to me.

I hate to bring this to the public's eye as it doesn't bode well for business but I left him an email yesterday before I left work saying that if there wasn't an email with a tracking number from him when I got to work the next day then I was going to be forced to present the issue to the public. He was given plenty of warning.

I've given him 6 hours since I've gotten to work and no word from him. So my thoughts are either he's just being plain inconsiderate, that or he lied to me about when it would be ready and when it was going to ship and he actually has no tracking number to give me.

personally i'd rather he have lied then just be inconsiderate and leave me in the dark counting the days past when it should have been back already.

Sorry guys, come this saturday will be 13 weeks that I have been evoless and every single day since day 4 has felt like a never ending let down. Then to add being ignored and avoided to the mix.

wow that sucks. I hope it works out to your liking...there has to be a justifiable excuse, that seems totally unreasonable.

Great shop but they are too busy to do all the little customer service things. Most people know going in that trying to call TRE about anything is very hit or miss since there are only a few people working there.

If they are so busy then they should be able to afford to hire another person simply just to answer the phone.

Otherwise they likely won't be in business too long with crap like this going on.

I'm just curious because I have a 6speed as well and don't see many guys getting rebuilds, but what exactly did you get done for $2195.62?

You'd have to ask Jon.

I doubt you could send a transmission in the mail, something sounds suspicious!
