Hole in transfer case from exhaust...Help

I just got back from picking my car up from the dealer after they showed me that my downpipe melted a hole in the transfer case. I just bought the car two weeks ago and it came with the turbo-back. The dealer will not warranty my car because of this. I am trying to bring the car back to the used car dealer I bought it from. If I cannot do that, what do I do?

That ****ing sucks *** man......was the hole all the way through and leaking??? Because that kind of thing doesnt happen over night.....that is wearing a piece at a time kind of thing.....so either the dealer knew.....or they at least had to have known there was something wrong and should have told you.......

You should go look up Lemon Law....they should have to pay for a new case for you if you did not know prior to purchase......

But if there was a hole would you even be able to get around????GL

Easy for you to say. I just spend a lot of money on this thing. Plus they quoted me $5,000.

Well a TRE rebuild is less than that....so dont get too angry yet.

I would call the used car dealer's owner and talk to them about seeing what they are going to do....if they dont seem like they are going to help you can mention the lemon law and either return the car for your money back or they can fix it for you or somehow make things better.....tell them that the mitsu dealer wants 5000 to fix and buy the 6 speed TRE tranny that I saw in the classifieds for 4250 and save that extra money

It was from a used exotic car dealer that I bought it from. I am on the phone talking with the state about the lemon law. I also left a message at the dealer. I got the car 3 hours away from where I live. I took is to the dealer the next day to get it looked at. They said everything was fine. I noticed all three lights were on on my acd and checked it, no fluid. So everytime I filled it up it went dry. I took it to the dealer to check for leaks and thats when they found the hole.

I dont beleive the exhaust melted a hole in the t case. I smell BS. there was another reason y thre is a hole the exhaust couldnt get hot enough to melt a hole in it. It wod warp and cause gear damaged before the case has a hole in it. Do u know how thick that case is? Over a 1/4 in. thats thick.

He doesn't need a new tranny dude, he needs a front transfer case.
