i call UBER BS that is almost completely impossible. if it really did melt, it was from internal heat, not external heat.

Is it just me or wouldn't your 1/16" down pipe melt and fall off before it got hot enough to melt a hole in 1/4" t-case???

I also think it's not possible to melt the housing from the exhaust. Please post pics to prove otherwise.

Correct, the first time I brought it to the dealer they said everything checked out fine. Meaning they probably didn't look at it. How can you not notice the fluid everywhere. They also said it ate through a power steering line. This definitely happened before I brought it to them. But they still should have seen it.

Apparently it can. I would have thought the downpipe would have a giant hole in it way before the transfer case would have. Oh yea and the fluid that leaked out got all over my axle boots and melts them. Yea that's right.

Pics are too blurry for me to see anything.
The only logically expaination is that the DP physically rubs/bangs the housing of the Transfer case enough time to slowly chip it off.

Downpipes can rub and vibrate a hole in a transfercase.

It has nothing to do with heat.
