Does the clutch adjustment adjust the "height" of the clutch pedal only? OR does it effect when the clutch engages? I assume this will prolong the life of the clutch somehow? ie makes sure there is no incedental rubbing of the clutch material if engagement is 1" off the floor, as opposed to 3" off the floor?

I have a stock one in my driveway (Friends), and his clutch engages 3" off the floor, or "close to the top", and my Twin Plate engages 1" or so off the floor, and it appears this measurement is different at different times of "Heat" in the motor. Any input, or are you gonna send me packing on a "search" mission?

BTW, turning too much either direction can result in negative effect on the clutch.

I wouldnt turn any more than 2.5 turns.


On a side note: when I bought my car, the engagement was too early (like 1inch from the bottom) and had grinding issues.
I adjusted it to the point where it's about 3inches away from the bottom and the shift is like butter and clutch grabs perfectly fine.

adjust the clutch so that there is no play at all and then adjust it so you have about 3MM play at the top.

 

hi friend could you measure the distance from the fire wall to the clutch pedal rubber on the back of the pedal it has to be 4.5inches or more.measure your friends clutch pedal distance from the firewall and just tell me how far it is from it while the clutch pedal is disengage also measure your pedal and try to leave it like his. also you could ajust the freeplay on your pedal it should be between 4-13mm.

also my pedal would disengage by 3 inches from the floor but i had to adjust it higher to about 4inches cause my gearbox got very notchy i think its cause i warped my disc or flywheel but it still grabs fine.

 

Does this engagement point apply for Twin plates? or stock clutches? I have the Exedy twin, should that be any different?? Thanks for your input.

 

i think its the same engagement point, but maybe you should adjust it a bit higher or you could get locked out of gear
