Stock turbo + Cosworth Head

We are talking about engine power modifications. Increasing engine power and taking weight off the chassis are entirely different things.
With that said, spending $3800.00 on a cylinder head that will net 20 HP to the wheels (using the stock turbo) can only be described one way:
RETARDED.

I mean taking 4 ex-lax before bed could save me more than 7lbs on race day, and that only costs like $5.

My friend is running a HKS head with the stock Evo 8MR turbo. Overall the gain is about 25 BHP throughout the rpm range

. It is a very good preparation step if you intend to go for bigger turo in the near future. In HK, we run HKS cams with HKS springs and retainers, but over in this forum, I found many people saying it is not required. If that is the case, why HKS sell those stuffs. We all have our own opinion and just do what you feel it right for yourself. Cheers.

WELL EACH OF US HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS AND DIFFERENT WAY OF SPENDING. I HAD SEEN MANY PEOPLE IN HK SPENDING HK$60,000 TO HK$80,000 ON THEIR ICE & CAR STOCK. TO AN ENGINE POWER FANATIC, THIS IS ALSO "RETARDED". SOME OF MY FRIENDS IN SINGAPORE OWNING AN EVO ARE PAYING DOUBLE THE PRICE OF AN EVO IN HK. DOES THIS MEAN THEY ARE RETARDED TO BUY AN EVO.
PERSONALLY I FELT THAT 20 WHEEL HP THROUGHT THE WHOLE RPM RANGE IS MUCH BETTER THAN ONLY 20 WHEEL HP AT THE UPPER RPM RANGE ONLY. THE COSWORTH HEAD FLOW CHART SHOW IMPROVEMENT THROUGHTOUT THE WHOLE RPM RANGE. LASTLY, IF MONEY IS NOT AN ISSUE, THEN GO FOR IT.

I believe Dboey asked for anyone input from anyone RUNNING the combination. So my response is for those who have posted with no personal knowledge...
I've never seen such a large group of pompous, self appointed experts with stolen lab coats! The head in question may not be the best option for the individual inquiring. I personally don't know as I have no experience with the unit. However, a head cleaned up and ported for his intended application is most certainly a marked advantage. He wants a head ported for velocity vs. maximum flow. Then again, anyone he goes to for this service, worth their salt, would ask the intended purpose/combination and work accordingly.

i agree with zeus on the critisisms. i'm sure i have much to blame for a lotta the culture on evom these days but it just seems like ti's getting so bad. how can you debate something like worth to an individual... it just makes me shake my head.
iunno evom's policy on moderation but... i think about 60% of the stuff written these days should be deleted. i'm a right wing moderator on socalevo.
