Injectors/ Head Question

I am running just basically stock turbo with
Aftermarket UICP
LICP
EBC to 25psi
cosworth M2 cams
Aftermarket Intake
TBE
Turbo Outlet
Oil Cooler
Radiator
FMIC

the problem is i am running RC 550cc injectors they were previously in the car do you think i need to change something larger like 780 or 1000 cc for the stock turbo
??????

Also Should i change my Valve springs and Valve stems because i am not sure if the head can handle the cosworth M2 cams with 25 psi??????? I am changing the head gasket for sure though

550's might be ok, but there still small, you might run out of fuel depending on your tune, I ran 1000cc injectors in my evo just to have enough fuel incase i was going to do future mods, like turbo, head etc.

IMO i wouldnt run cams unless i changed the valve springs. I like my motors, and dont want to chance them in any aspect. M2's have alot higher lift then stock so my answer is YES, run better valve springs, ppl will fight with me until im blue in the face, but any cam over the stock lift i would change the valve springs.

goodluck

Why would you change the head gasket? The factory head gasket can comfortably handle double your power, plus some. Changing it amounts to a useless exercise. If you're concerned, get a set of ARP head studs ($100 USD), and be done with it. You can change those without removing the head.

You would be wise to upgrade the valvesprings wherever a cam seller so advises. One user recently discovered what happens when the valves float due to insufficient spring pressure. You don't want to go that route.

You know, I changed my springs when I did my S2 cams, but I can't physically see any difference between the new springs and the old ones. I mean they just looked the same.

Well, where did you buy the new springs? Looks can be deceiving. Did you get an aftermarket spring?

Why would somebody pull the 560cc/min injectors that come from the factory out to buy and put in an aftermarket 550 cc/min injector? And the answer is yes, you will max the stock injectors out on a stock turbo.

I have no idea the car came that way and i check the injectors they say on them RC 550 so i assume they are 550cc injectors

What brand aftermarket valve springs should i get for a good price and does the job?

Different spring wire metallurgy explains why springs of different rates may look similar. If you bought them from ETS, call them for specifics.

I understand the metallurgical properties, I was just surprised at this.

The GSC Beehive have one less turn in the spring. That makes the spring has a higher K (spring constant) and make them stiffer. Check out your physics book for details on springs.

Oh I know what you mean, I just didnt look that close. Quick inspection with the naked eye and I swore I was putting in the same springs that I was taking out.

I just don't want to kiss a valve. I'm revving to 7.8k
