need advice on clutch adjustment....
Just installed an ACT pressure plate, disc, and Prolite flywheel
Install took about 7 hours - thank god its over
Anyways, I was just wondering how much I need to adjust the pedal. Ive done a ton of searching and also looked at the evomotorsports.com how to on adjusting the clutch pedal BUT I just dont get a warm and fuzzy on my pedal adjustment. If you run an ACT setup can you tell me how many threads you have showing and where your clutch engagement point is. I appreciate the help.
Oh yeah - I have about 4 threads showing and the clutch starts grabbing about an inch off the floor, thanks again

I'd give it a about a week to settle in and be nice to the clutch in the mean time. At that point, then adjust it. I've got the ACT setup, and mine starts to grab after about a full inch of travel (if not more), and is fully engaged shortly thereafter. No idea how many threads are showing, I'm doing good just to get enough light up there to see where the locking nut is. It's going to be personal preference..... but you don't want it at either extreme. If you're having high rpm lockout or grinding, try a front motor mount or engine dampener before adjusting the clutch to engage the minute you put any pressure on the pedal. It's probably not the clutch that is causing the problem, but excessive engine movement if you have many miles on the original motor mounts.

thanks for the response, Ive already installed an AMS front motormount, SS line, removed the restrictor pill, metal shift linkage bushings, metal shifter base bushings, short shifter, and I run Motul 600 & GM Syncromesh so the shifting is nice and smooth.
What Im worried about is premature wear of the the clutch itself. I want to make sure it is fully disengaged when it is supposed to be. I dont plan on doing any aggressive driving on it for at least 500 miles or so, I want to make sure its properly broken in first.
Anybody else have any comments
