Devo Tunings Quartermaster Twin Disk

Its time for my clutch to be replaced and I have been reading into the various types and brands of clutches. A friend thought I should try out the Quartermaster twin disk that Devo Tuning sells. I searched evom and didn't get alot of results or info on it.

I know this clutch is the better push style, but has anybody ran it or had any expereiences with it?

Any help is appreciated.

Yes I have used it on my Evo and DSM. It is currently in my car with well over 200 launches slipping it out a decent amount. It makes the car chatter alot and is pretty jerky on daily driving. If you dont mind the jerky take offs and the noise it creates than it will hold up to whatever you put it through. Adam is also a top notch guy.

i have it in my dsm and friends have it in their dsm's...clutch holds fantastic but like trina said it is noisy...it is lighter than even a fidanza act combo...if your looking for a clutch that holds power and disengages beautifully then get a twin disc...if you cant stand noise or the jerkiness leaving from a stop then stick to a single disc with a sprung hub.

FYI Adam used to preload the drivetrain with this clutch in his evo ii and it still held up perfect...

It sounds like you dropped a bunch of bolts in your bellhousing every time you push the clutch in.

Yes, the jerky take-offs because it likes to grab hard... its more of an on/off than most "normal" clutches.

It also chirps when you shift and dont rev match well... and it chirps while slipping it out taking off... taking off from a dead stop sorta sounds like a belt squeel I guess.

About it holding to abuse trust me... it will hold up to whatever you want. I have pre-loaded mine, hot lapped it at least 10 times in a row and made plenty of passes. Same clutch is in there doin its thing.

i've made many 129+ mph passes on devo's clutch in my dsm and have never had any problems. it was a bit tricky to get used to when i first installed it! every time the clutch engages it made the same skreeching noise that "trinababe" explained, but not to worry that was perfectly normal. i have to say adam's clutch is the best clutch i have ever owned and when the time comes i will be installing one in my IX.

I had one in my mirage. Takes alot of effert to pull smoothly from a stop. And I made a heavy flywheel so it would be easier. Once moving the clutch works well. Most will hate this clutch. Very harsh engagement. The clutch is designed for rally use. Its an on and off switch. It will slip without chatter, but it engages in about 1/2 inch of pedal travel most clutches take 2" to fully engage. I loved the way it shifted and didn't want to loose that so I swithced to a tilton carbon carbon.
