It sounds like you may be over-stroking the clutch. If you pass the clutch's release point, it will begin to re-engage (drag). The best way to find where to set the pedal stop is to:

1. Put the car into gear (without pressing on clutch pedal)
2. Have someone try to rock the car while you slowly depress the clutch pedal.
3. Once the car begins to roll, note where your pedal position is.
4. Typically you will need another 3/8" of pedal travel after initial release (step 3). Set you stop there. Only "fine tuning" should be needed from this point.

So what was the solution? I'm sure we're all glad that you tinkered with it, and that it's workng fine now, but I personally only care about what the fix was in case I need it someday
