Isn't there some 05's too that have a problem with the water pump too?

Low compression on #3 probably wont cause the leak, but that leak likely caused the #3 to go down hill. Problem is mitsu has a way too broad window of compression differential for their Evo.

Also looks like leak occurs at higher cyl psi/temps and perhaps some of the escaped pressure found it's way into the wet side (via #3 HG area) and out the path of least resistance - where you see leaking.

You might diagnose this one with a leak down as follow-up to your compression test.

In this case mitsu ows you a head/gasket replace, I think this happened to someone else but it was a PITA for him

Nonetheless, hopefully rings or valves are good cuz overheating will make engine knock up a storm - I found this out with a jeep rental in Aruba.

not to keep asking the same question but, I did a compresion test on my 03 evo and it read 130, 125, 70, 130 I know within 20% is ok but this is substansially more what is causing this?

Wow thats crazy low compression numbers did you just do like one spin? Make sure you've pulled all the plugs and connected the battery to a charger for more accurate results. And do you have cams?

Crank it for 3-4 pops in the gauge then stop.
