I like my spec stage three six-puck clutch, but I wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver that experience stop and go traffic. It can hold as much power as a exedy twin plate, but for a lot cheaper.

If you primarily drive the expressway or don't get into a lot of stop and go traffic, then it will be fine. Don't listen to anyone who tells you a six puck is easy to drive in medium to high traffic. PM if you are interested in a six puck and I'll let you know my experiences.

My advice is not to skimp by guess how cheaply one can 'get by'.

The least expensive way out in this department is to get the clutch that will hold up best, regardless of price. Why? Because it costs more to replace a lesser clutch twice than a better one once.

My advice is to find the best clutch that is suited for one's anticipated usage and accomodates the expected power level by a *very comfortable* margin.

Here is a perfect text book example of going cheap on your clutch purchase. $50K
plus car that got a $1075.00 clutch then complained when this happened....

Quoted from another website "This is what happens when a RPS clutch comes apart!! It was on a 03 SRT-10 and when it came apart it almost took the owners right ankle off! A piece of clutch went through the fire wall and out the windshield, broke the ears off the motor, bent the imput shaft on the trans and cut everything in the tunnel! The bill to put this SRT back together was $39,600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
The owner is trying to blame RPS for making P.O.S. clutchs when they made a clutch that would handle the power that this engine was making, just the owner thought that "this one would do for my budget"

WHOA...that is intense...I am speechless, how does this happen?...That almost sounds like you would total out the vehicle for a crappy clutch...I bet you that man will think twice before trying to save a few dollars in the future...rule of thumb: buy cheap and you'll buy again/buy expensive and you'll buy once.

Its funny how people immmediately assume that when a person asks advice for something(ie a product) that is built well, yet wont kill the bank account, that it means they are "trying to get by" or are going the cheapskate route. I am asking a very simple question that only requires a simple answer. I just want to know what clutch is built well for the price. thanks.

Well I'm about at the same place too, looking for a new clutch. I've been recommended the ACT Street + Fidenza flywheel. But I'm thinking about getting the Mitsubishi OEM ones until or almost to the end of warranty to avoid issues. What do you guys think.

Your ACT 6 puck was an unsprung and not a sprung hub as I recommended.

The stark observation that this discussion (one of many) was originated by someone who snapped an aftermarket clutch is hardly an assumption, and is more than worthy of note.

The advice of which you are apparently critical is simple and sound - it's better to buy better than what one needs than not when dealing with clutches. Enough said.

RPS is not a cheap clutch. I've used them in many apps. and they have been a quality unit. Marco Passante used one to go 8.7's
