Is this "new turbo" a direct swap w/ the stock mani? This is exactly what probably 50% of the evo community would be looking for. Congrats on this new piece btw.

If dave said he won't answer any questions... i believe it.

He said stock appearing so you can probably be pretty sure that it will be a direct swap.

Hopefully this new bolt on turbo will make results on pump gas boost. I dont wanna run c16 or meth injection to make the turbo worth it in the price to hp ratio

David are you using the FP housing on all of your big turbo kits now? Can you send me pricing on the gt35 CHRA?

David - Please keep us updated on the new turbo.

Simple question: For a basic bozo like me who runs pump gas without injection and just wants a bigger bolt-on turbo using stock manifold, 02 housing, downpipe (and knows the ATP kit sucks for "spoolage"), will this new turbo be a worthwhile investment over the stock IX 10.5 hotside turbo?

Also, Have you picked a name for it !?!

Off-topic: If FP made a green for the Evo, I would be on it like bees on honey....

A few answers to a few chosen questions

The new turbo bolts to the stock manifold/02 housing. Just a new version of the 20g-9-5. Looks stock.

The estimate of 10.50 for my RS with this not yet released turbo should trap at over 130 mph and I am guessing before my car is done will be very close to 500 whp on our dyno. This was my goal since the beginning for bolt on turbo and now the reality of it is getting very close.

Also, here is the dyno sheet of my RS the day of the Shootout VS. our GT35R kit. Run #1 is the pull from the shootout and the power level it was at to run the 10.8 at 128 mph.

Run #2 I started later as trying to dyno from 3,000 rpm with the GT35R is boring. Even starting at 3,000 the graph looks about the same, maybe 30 whp more at 3500 rpm if I had started at 3,000 rpm with no change up top. Just takes too long and I wasn't trying to perform back to back tests on spool up and such. This is just a comparison of the best with the "special 20g" to my car with a 35R.

Both turbos were run on C16. The small turbo (#1 graph) was with about 34 psi and the GT35R is about 38 psi.

Enjoy.

EVOIXMR,

This new turbo is the turbo for you. We are talking about names for the turbo here at the shop and think we are going to just call it the 20g-9-LT. The smaller version we sell now we call the 20g-9-5, as you all know. The LT will stand for the change that has been made, which is Large Turbine.

Damn you guys!! I said I wasn't answering questions on this new turbo!!!! haha

Thanks, David. I will eagerly wait for this turbo to be released.

Now, You could hand one to Robi as he is headed my way when he is done there and I could test it out for you...just offering!
