Well in residential areas slow down dude......

Last night I was in Jersey and spotted the cops in their dark hiding spots and managed to slow down soon enough...(I wasnt speeding anyway)
They often patrol in cars w/o the light bars

black05EVO8,

You started out fairly smart on the pricing and then towards the end sounded like you might ride on a short bus! haha

The buildup of that car, is quite simple, not quite cheap but quite simple. Round about cost with labor and all would be under $25,000. That is on the high side.

Now as far as some of your other comments. First off the EVO drivetrain is rediculously strong. Our black car is running a 100% bone stock driveline, the car has gone 8.95 at 164 mph and has NOT BROKEN A SINGLE DRIVELINE PART YET. Wednesday night we broke our first, that was a left rear axle and it was not a stock one but an aftermarket axle. Daniel's red car has also broken 1 axle. My RS hasn't broken a part yet. The fears of breaking an EVO driveline part are about non-existent.

As for the DSM, that is a time bomb from one end to other when breaking parts are concerned. T-case is weak, the transmission is a complete joke as far as holding up goes, the u-joints are weak, the rear end is weak and the axles, even the 4 bolt, are weak. Buying a DSM and expecting to run even close to what an EVO does for remotely the same money is a pipe dream. Believe me, I've raced both and there is on comparison between the cars.

Dave then why do some people break their driveline parts in their EVO's??

Is it mainly due to unnecessary abuse? or is it because they cant drive?

Can't drive and tires make a huge difference IMO, but will wait for Dave to respond.

abuse!

that's the same reason why I am still on my stock transfer case after hundreds of launches all over 5500rpms on a 5 year old evo 7
