What is wrong with Mitsu techs!!
Well my friend owns an 03 Evo and the car was being repaired for some damages.. The other day he calls me and tells me the car was vibrating like crazy! Turns out to be that the driveshaft was loose, he was able to tightened it with his fingers!!!!!
Imagine if he was on the road and that driveshaft came off? He could have killed himself or someone else.. In result to this his tranny got damaged also...

Generally, the technical quality (experience) of the mitsu technician depends on the pay, and the pay depends on the size or profit of the dealer, and the dealer depends on the location. This isn't allways the case but I wouldn't let a tech from a dumpy dealership touch my car

Back in the days of the Talon Digest we got the NHSTA to recall the AWD DSM's for a transfer case leak. The dealerships started replacing transfer cases right and left which amazed me because the recall campaign part was the front yoke for the driveshaft. Only a few cars should have needed a new transfer case. Well, post after post started hitting the Talon Digest board, the writer stating he/she had gotten a new transfer case installed only to have it lock up a couple of miles down the road. The dealership had forgotten to fill the box with lube. This happened a lot.

This is true, dealers who dont pay enough have high turn over rates with techs so they constantly have new guys starting. If the dealer pays well and treats their employees good, they will have more experienced techs that have been there a while and know what they are doing.

You also have to remember that techs are people and people make mistakes. I know it's no excuse since you're on the receiving end of the screwing but realize that if someone is doing a big job like tranny work, there is a possibility that something may be overlooked.
The main reason you guys may be having problems with the dealer techs is... Started back in the 90's, most manufacuter's don't rebuild anything anymore, just replace components. When was the last time you seen anyone at a dealer rebuild anything ie.. engine, transmission, rear diff.. Only a few lines do this anymore, most manufactures want a component changed out.. The manufacturers want guys that could follow flowcharts and try to diagnose a problem than get hands on and figure out why the part failed or fix it. Anyone can change a part, so the demand for more experienced techs that can actually fix something has shrunk. No need to pay joe xx amount of dollars per hour to fix the component, when the dealer can pay fred x amount of dollars per hour to change it.. looks better on the bottom line, and the dealer is there to make money.. So think about that the next time the dealer charges you 125.00/hr to hook up a mutt II so they can pull a code... just an opinion..
I work as a tech at a dealer and trust me, the cars get harder to fix every year. They dont get easier so they can just hire any person to fix cars. Its the opposite actually. People used to try to fix their own cars and they could do most of the work. Now there is no way you are going to fix the problems I come across without knowing a lot about cars and going to classes. I get sent to class about once every 3-4 months. You dont have too many "shade tree" mechanics anymore and as more time goes on, they will be dissapearing more. As it is, we get vehicles in everyday from other shops paying us to figure it out because they couldnt. One of the main reasons we dont do as much rebuilding now is because there are so many more components on the car, its impossible to be an expert at everything.
