Aquamist Install question

Gonna be purchasing the Aquamist 1s kit soon. And i was curious on everyones install time. Install time for DIY, and Install time that a shop did it.

Install time according to Aquamist is 13-14 hours. If your real good at wiring and everything else maybe around 10 hours. SRM tuning in San Rafael Ca just installed one on a customers car but I'm not sure how long it took them. Good luck and let us know how it goes if you do the install.

im asuming it would be close to the install time of a nitrous kit, and since i just installed one last night i would say about 12_13 hours.....and that was with my buddy helping me...i didnt think it would take that long either......but then theres always a little problem or 2.....

so many variables. where are you going to put the pump?

I prolly spent 5 or 6 hours getting the pump installed the first time. That translates to a weekend. But if you use the gauge (DDS) or link WI to ems the hours add up. Its not hard to spend a couple of hours routing wires to the cabin.
Where is your water tank going? Are you going to pump water to the pump, got a tank level switch? Wires wires wires. Removing pieces to make an instal location, everything adds up.

If you do a really custom, showcase instal it might take weeks to be happy.

What should a shop, who has done this multiple times, take them?

there are big variables to this...

where is the water tank?
priming pump?
flow sensor? is it to be integrated in to the cluster?
how nice of an install does the customer want?
ecu mapping and swapping out jets...

quickie install with trunk mounted tank and no flow sensor (the basics) - 8 hours w/mapping
detailed install with all the bells - 16 hours w/mapping

doing things well takes time... period...

you could rush it, but it will (most likely) be an eye sore and forget trying to troubleshoot it when/if there is a issue (whether it be tomorrow or three years from now)...

joe audio can install a car alarm in 30 minutes, but it takes hours to weed through the garbage of an install and make sense of the spaghetti they put under the dash.

it just comes down this: how much pride you take in your work?

Aquamist takes pride in knowing that their products are the most elegant solution available, as well as being much more powerful and adaptive... the least people can do is complement that with a nice installation.
