whoops

So i put a 255 Walbro Fuel Pump in my 05 Evolution 8. After filling it up with gas and priming the fuel pump it wouldnt start, after several phone calls I did a compression test:
Cylinder 1: 40
Cylinder 2: 45
Cylinder 3: 70
Cylinder 4: 35

A detonated motor? i have no idea what happened and have never seen this happen before on any car. I decided to tear apart the head and send it to slowboy to have it cnc machined with new valves, springs ect. Also i am getting new Mahle pistons (.020 overbore) Also Manley H-Beam Rods, along with cometic bearings, new rings, 272 HKS cams and just for saftey HKS Kevlar Timing belt. Anything else i would need to replace because of what happened?? Thanks a lot!

This does not make sense. What happened before you put the fuel pump in?? Run it lean or something? Changing out the pump, priming it, and then trying to start the car is not going to blow the motor. How do you detonate a non-running motor?

Hope you didn't use a cheap compression gauge from Sears.... I have only use two from Sears and BOTH of them gave very low readings. Turned out my engine was fine and I spent mega-bucks on rebuilding it for nothing (this was on my old GVR-4).

If it didn't start due to an ignition problem you washed all the oil off of the walls with gas, which lowered your compression.

Even with numbers that low your car would start.

I made sure to put everything back on in its original spot and even double checked it before i started the motor. I still think that the reason its not starting is because of the injector relay or injector pack but i still dont understand how the motor was detonated. thanks a lot for all your help

if you hooked it up wrong..not even sure it would have started at all...but lets say you were not getting enough fuel, got into boost with a lean condition from a faulty install...that would cause the detonation. I doubt the pump would have even worked if it was hooked up wrong. You did something before hand and caused that damage. The pump is just a coincidence I think.
