Coudn't they just say that they saw a temp. drop on the cold side from before and after, sampled 8 days apart? or possibly they felt it on their butt dyno? That seems to be considered evidence around here.

Why would AMS or any vendor go out of their way for this product. If I were AMS I would be suing the XS Power and entities for copyright infringement. For them to even provide a back to back review seems silly.

What I get out of their post #104 is that:
1. The XS Power is somewhat better than the stock unit. Meaning they state they "lose 5-8whp" vs their core on a back to back test. Well considering their core is good for 10-20whp over a stock core this isn't too bad. So this indirectly states that the XS Power IC raises stock HP anywhere between 5-10whp over stock.
2. On a bigger turbo car you typically run more boost. Which in this case even stated right on the Ebay ad the XS Power IC has a 2-5psi drop at 35psi...ouch thats not good. So you would lose more power over stock.

What he does not say is in regards to fitment. I have seen an AMS IC and it never had the fitment problems I had getting this to work. It will work although the AMS IC was a true bolt on, not bend this bracket or move this IC coupler around...bolt on.

The outlets look different in photos I have seen and I know if the outlets on the AMS fit like this ebay fmic I have I would be pissed.

they might look similar but not identical. the ebay ic end tanks are cast, not welded sheet metal like the AMS, it's probably why the ebay ic weights so much. also, did you count the number of bars on the ebay ic vs. AMS.

Personally I prefer cast endtanks, much stronger IMO.

not really when done right alum is just as good if not better

just like with blocks... not all alum blocks are bad for boost... just ones that aren't designed for high horsepower cars...

People get so sick of discussing the Ebay FMIC's that something else developed.

The truth seems to be that the XS Power is a good bang for the buck.

I wouldn't put one on my car however. For a few hundred dollars more
I got a great deal ( shipped ) on the Turbo XS from a vendor on here.

I agree with you, the angle of the end tanks of both IC's are not the same. if I had to work like I did putting on the ebay IC with the AMS unit I would be pissed too. I really don't think that difference has much inpact, if any, on how the core peforms.

your looking at the wrong IC then. THere are several different ones out there, the one that most people are talking about happens to look exactly like the AMS unit, welded endtanks and all.

I didn't sit there and count fins per in. or bars, the cores look exactly alike except one has AMS spraypainted on it.

I am talking cast aluminum vs sheetmetal aluminum, (both are aluminum).
