Wow I leave the thread for a day and quite a few responses.

Anyhow, tomorrow my shortblock and head are going to begin the process of being removed and transported to Jackson Auto Machine where they will be doing the following.

- JAM 2.3 Stage III Shortblock
- JAM Stage II Perf Cylinder Head Package

I figured I may as well have the head rebuilt since everything is apart.

Thanks everyone for your input and opinions, believe me it was not easy making the choice. Some people that have known me since I have had my car will know that I have always been a strong advocate of a rebuilt 2.0.

I agree. Spent about an hour on the phone with her this morning, practically double my knowledge of the 4G63 in that time.

(Wasn't much to begin with).

As far as built motors go, AMS, Buschur, and TurboTrix are on top of my list....

JAM may be considered also

Jam is only about 2 miles from where I live, I have spoken with them in person many times, and have seen their equipment and engine building process. They are the shizzle. They are simply THE best 4G63 machine shop in existence. They used to build engines for Sean Glazar's 8 second AWD talon!

Dont let rpm spool take too much effect on your decision. If you look at dynos comparing the 2.0 vs 2.3, the stroker makes incredible torque over the 2.0, combined with better spool and unbelievable midrange punch power. It will be very very fun to drive and with a GT35R, there will surely be plenty of top end. The best example is the black AMS built EVO that was on SRVIDz. 2.3+GT35R making 600+whp. That combination is incredible. Even better, Dan B's 2.3 - 37R street car that went 9.8 @ 147mph!

I think its a no brainer if your car is street car. If youre just going to build a track monster, the 2.0 is probably a better choice due to its high revving capabilities. However, even if you do choose the 2.0.... revving out to 9000 is a little overboard. 8500-8700 is a good rpm that will have ALOT less stress than revving out to over 9000.
