Trouble engaging reverse

I just installed a exedy twin plate heavy duty disk yesterday and when I am at a dead stop I have trble putting the car in to gear mainly reverse. But when the car is roling it shifts as smooth as butter into any gear 1-5. What could be wrong do I need to adjust the clutch pedal? Or is this normal for a heavy duty clutch? When the car is turned off it will go into reverse with no problem, but when turned on I have to give it a good push.

Thanks
Manny

probably the teeth of the gear not lined up with the syncro. If you want the way i've always got mine into gear when it wont line up was to put it in 3rd then into reverse.

Its happend to me on my stock car a couple of times.

usually it is a good idea to adjust the pedal anyway after installing a new clutch even though i don't think yours is far off or you'd have lockout issues. TRE reccommends putting all four wheels off the ground and adjusting until the wheels start to turn when the pedal is 3" off the floor.

Ill try adjusting the clutch, my installer lives 2 hours away but he checked the clutch pedal and felt it didnt need adjusting. I talke to him and he agrees that the clutch pedal might need some adjusting. But when Im driving around it shifts super smooth I have not had a problem shifting since it has been installed a little over 24 hours ago.

Thanks for help guys.

I have the same problem even on my stock clutch. I just let out the clutch so it just starts to barely engage and it seems to slip into gear well

Are you serious? It will lock you out of reverse.. You should halfto put the car in 1st and then to reverse.

This keeps people from downshifting to 4th insted of grabbing reverse at 100mph.

Also adjust your clutch some.

I installed mannys clutch and the engaugement is 3" plus or minus. Mine does this as well. So i got to thinking......we filled his tranny with Redline MT-90. I have used this from day 1. I wonder if this could be what caused it?? The other thing is maybe the twin discs need to wear in on the splines a little so as to find their center and float a little easier?? Just a thought......RRR
