are you trying to launch the car with the wheels sideways? take it easy.. the only reason the wheel would want to go to the center is because you are putting alot of force on the turning radius of the car.... when the wheels are turne din any direction since the car is also being forced from the front wheels to movoe forward the natural instinct of the car is to go forward therefor ur wheel tries to straighten out.. as for the clunking... its ur axles.. ur putting alot of force on them... tats the only way to explain it.. treat ur car nicer...

my car does that a little, I was told it was normal its just because the all wheel drive binds up when you start going with your wheel cranked. I had my trans out centerdiff was fine does with the new trans also.

I'm having sorta the same problem now. I've never had any issues until I brought my evo back from the track one night. I had the wheel turned over pulling into the garage and I heard a very loud pop and the car felt like i had actually tapped the brakes but then it felt like it broke loose or something and pulled into the garage just fine. This problem only comes up when the wheel is turned either left or right pretty much all the way over. Sometimes it's just a little clunk and then sometimes it feels very violent. Either way, it never happened before I took it to the track and now I'm having issues. I've had the axles off and looked at my CV joints but that's as far as I've looked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
