Exedy Twin Disc for Evo 8. Need part #.

I drove a friend's Evo with a HKS twin plate clutch; it's nowhere as smooth as the stock clutch, but just like a paddle clutch, you get used to it pretty quickly.

And just in case not everybody believed it: Evo 7 and 8 clutches are the same

The Evo 7 and 8 are basically the same car (code number CT9A) with only minor mechanical differences.

Not ta' get in your ****... but maybe to avoid any future confussion on the part of a buyer... but my understanding was this:

MULTI-Plate - 2 / 3 Disc Clutches from Exedy, good for upto 740/900 HP, includes Flywheel, Bearing, etc...

HYPER-Single - Single plate setup which includes the Flywheel, TO Bearing, etc, etc as the Multi-Disc does... That clutch is good for around 450-500HP.

The Hyper Series do not come with the bearings Matt, nor do they include the alignment tool. Only Exedy's Sport clutches (of which there are none for the Evo) come with the throw out bearings, and also include alignment tools...no clutch/flywheel or flywheel alone from Exedy comes with a pilot bushing either. As for them handling 700 or so HP, thats on a RWD car..on an AWD like the Evo, you are looking at it holding around 500-600 for a twin disk.

Al - its going to engage very similar to the Cusco clutch you had that Andy eventually got.....defiantely on the grabbier side, though it still can be slipped. Like anything else, it takes some getting used to.

The HP is really never an issue with a clutch..its the torque. An Evo that puts out around 400-450 HP should do fine the the Hyper Single, but knowing how you mod and drive, the dual disk would be the better choice IMHO.

There are other options for those wanting a smoother engagement, but the pricing gets a bit close to the Exedy due simple to the fact that we must import them ourselves.
