Reflash and Boost controller add 60whp??
Honeslty right now i dont even have the 800 my evo payments are killing me along with the insurance i starting to check around to get the best prices once i close another loan and get bout 6k extra in ma pocket than ill be doing all that
holy ****!!!!! i need to raise my prices. you were actually considering doing nothing but a tune and a manual boost controller for 800 dollars?????????????
if he charges 150 to install a boost controller, i need to open up shop around there. i install cams for 150... and opening up the valve cover and removing the cams is a little more involved then removing a few vacuum lines and dropping in a valve. **** if you were in DFW i would do the tune and install the boost controller for 1/4 of that +parts

well im on the phone with tuning technologies and they are asking 500 for reflash 60 for the boost controller and its a "Dejon Tool MBC" they said it works they best out of all of the and 40 to install the boost controller but they also said it is neceassry to get a fuel pump which they are charging 110 for and 40 installation... is the pump really necesarry and does 500 seem about right for a reflash. I asked them about the hallman mbc and they said they only work with dejon because it " works the best" Does that sound like a good deal ??
well i dont have a TBE and i just spoke with road race engineering and they wanted 200 to reflash 110 for MBC and installation they 180 for fuel pump with installation.. the funny thing is the person doing to reflash for road race is scott gray the same person who was going to do it at speed gallery so so its going to cost me about 500 for all 3 of those. does any one think i can get it cheaper
Come on, now, you just saved $300 and got a fuel pump added on. Don't go from having no clue to being greedy. That's a LOT for only $500. Kinda funny that RRE is now doing flashes after all those years of SAFC controversy, but it's a good thing.
Does the boost drop off on the IX like it does on the VIII? If so, then I could see a max gain (not peak) of 60whp at 7k rpms by keeping the boost up and leaning out the crazy rich stock tune.
acctualy road racing also told me they only work with dejon he said probably the best MBC out there right now.. and thanks everyone for saving me a lot of money i was going to make a big mistake
It's not the best, but there are shops like that who try to avoid the more popular Hallman and Forge MBCs, since the Dejon is so cheap.
Spdracerut, IXs tend to have more boost taper than VIIIs due to the increased cylinder pressure from the MIVEC.

One thing roadracing said if that if they install MBC with reflash and no fuel pump they are going to leave it on stock boost and i wont see that much hp gain he said it will be a lot more with the fuel pump, does anyone know how much of a difference a fuel pump with cause ??
Come on, dude, we have already bailed you out of a bad situation, and now you're asking all these newbie questions without doing ONE MINUTE OF RESEARCH. RRE is just being overly cautious. The IXs have a better fuel pump than VIIIs, and you can definitely raise the boost over stock no problem. You don't even need a fuel pump with all the stg1 mods, but we recommend doing it ONLY as a precaution. You can get a flash and MBC, set the boost to 22psi and be fine for years to come. If they choose not to accommodate that, then they are just being cautious to save themselves from any liability, but it's really not that big of a deal.
If you want/need warranty, cant afford to get parts if they break, I suggest you keep it as is. I am afraid that once you start modding, you will eventually put parts that will give mitsu enough of a reason to void your warranty...
If you decide to mod, than I would set some targets for power/noise/dependability and do research on how to get there most effectively. Bear in mind that who tunes your car is just as important as the parts.

well the thing is not that i cant afford parts its that my mom would kick my *** because she said ill get you the car but you have to leave it how it is, and the stuff i am going to do she wont notice thats why i dont want an exhaust because she can hear that **** i mean im only 18 and she agreed to pay my insurance if i leave the car stock so ima do things that are not noticable because i do not want that payment... and thanks everyone for all the information you guys realy helped out a lot. thank you
