will it fit into the small "pocket" built into the dash under & left of the steering column?

Put it in the coin compartment on the dash left of the steering column.

I have the Blitz TT. I mounted the small front panel just below the tach, looks great and the boost peak/warning features are really good for adjusting boost.

I used the Blitz eclipse harness with no problems.

Three screws and the steering covers come right off, place the harness on the left side in-line with the stock connector. Run the purple wire to the ebrake handle switch and ground the ground wire just behind the fuse box on the drivers side. For the vacume line for th eboost gauge, I tapped into my analog boost gauge with eh supplied "T" fitting. It takes about 20-30 minutes total to install...
