Trouble shifting gears

First, I have a perrin short shifter.

Now the problem. Its started as a small issue awhile back. Now (today), I went to the car to go to work. Car wouldnt go into reverse. Checked all other gears and they wouldnt go in. The only gear that went in with some effort was 3rd. Its seems like the slots for the gears are gone. During freeway driving shifting isnt really a problem. When I am at a stop shifting into gears is a problem. This is really frustrating.

Isnt the powertrain warrenty for 60,000 miles?

I have 2004 Evo BTW

Is the clutch disengaging all the way? Might need to bleed the system.

It feels like it is but when I am pressing the clutch in all the way and let off the brake on level ground, the car moves a tiny bit. Its really strange.

try bleeding it out, imo i think it would still be hard to shift on the highway aswell as dead stop and go driving. check the fluid in the res. aswell it might have gunk in it which is affecting the pressure. eliminate the possible problems one at a time starting from one side and work to the other. hope u get it fixed

I really dont think this is the problem. I have had my shortshifter on the car pretty much since I bought it 2 years ago.

but the old one back on and see if it will take care of the problem,if not maybe your clutch needs to be adjusted.

What happens when you put it in gear with the car off, then push in the clutch and start it? Does the car hop or move forward at all when you go to start it?

check the hydraulic cylinder(its where you bleed the clutch) if it slowly got worst as time went by as u said. im thinking that, or some other pressure loss somewhere. maybe a small fluid leak.
my 2 cents
hope u find it soon
