Well, I was driving around my neighbor when this light came on. I'm still breaking-in the car, and there's no mod yet. What could cause this light to show up? bad gas?, etc...???

I've been running CA 91 for over a month no problem. Have used both Chevron and 76 gas. Don't know if the other brands would be better or worse.

Yeah, gas cap is my first guess too. Happened to me a few times in my old Subaru... and I just recently overheard a coworker saying he experienced the same thing.

I did tighened the gas cap by 3 clicks. I checked the cap again after the light came on and it was still tight.

I'll take it back tomorrow. If there's a problem, then hope they'll get me a new EVO... j/k

Hell, I put 45K miles on my Lexus and there wasn't a single problem.

Does anyone know how to reset the Service Engine Soon light? I put a new Cold Air Intake on my Lancer O-Z and we forgot to reconnect the Mass Air Flow Sensor and started the car we immediatly realized what was wrng and shut the car off hoever the light still came on and I dont know how to get it reset? Does anyone know if there is a way other than taking it to the dealer?

Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds see if it works.

Please tell me you're not filling up your car while it's running...

If you are, that's dumb for 2 reasons:

1) The reason the gas cap is suppose to be twisted on tight, is to build pressure in the fuel system. You're completely defeating that while pumping gas.

2) It's EXTREMELY dangerous. You can EASILY blow up yourself and the gas station if any little spark came near you.

Indeed, there is a greater chance of a spark arching to the nozzle of the gas pump (or anywhere near the pump) when your car is running! You are risking your life and others around you, this annoys me more than anything when im at a gas station. Most people shrug it off like it aint no deal, but trust me... it is.
