hollow cam / valves, diff turbo ( twin scroll)

Lots of others ..

But your friend can easily get 300+ HP from his 2G

I think you can really get any HP you want from any engine, its just a matter of how much cash you are willing to throw at it.

Look at the other differences brakes, stearing, gearing, overall handling.

Both great cars tho, I owned a 99 GSX prior to the EVO

No ****ing idea.

I would assume that the oil (squirter ? ) pump would be beefed up so if your cornering really hard its still able to pickup oil.

maybe call a mitsu dealer for the part numbers ?

How about the crankwalk issue if the engine are the same it looks like the the Evo VIII engine will have a problem with crankwalk.

Please re-read the above post. They have the same block and that is about it relative to similiarities. Different crank, rods, pistons, valves, cams, bearings, turbo, intercooler, intake, fuel rail........ etc. Crankwalk has NOT been issue with the EVO period.

What I have read on the DSM Digest does not support the above opinion. Crankwalk is equally evident on EVOs as compared to DSMs.

Hi,

This topic has been discussed here several times and the conclusion of EVO owners overseas was that crankwalk on EVO's was not an issue to be concerned about. Can it occur?.. sure; on my EVO or lawn mower or 1G Talon or Ford Explorer. Equally evident as on 2G DSM's? No.

ACM do you have a website link on the DSM Digest that talked about the Evo VIII crankwalk.

Speedlimit why did the overseas site come to the conclusion that Evo crankwalk was not an issue to be concerned about.

Uhmmmmm...... because it has not been an actual problem with ealier versions of EVO's? The search function is your friend. Type in "crankwalk" and you'll get 2 pages of threads discussing the issue (or non issue). What is your concern?

Good... you've drawn your own conclusions. Here is my point. I'm not concerned one single bit about my EVO crankwalking and I've not heard any other owner voice a concern so therefore it is NOT an issue for me and apparently others.

What is your point?
