alky and explosion in sheet metal intake manifold

i was reading thru this thread:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=221276

is there the possibility that "pooling" and accumulation of fuel(methanol) in the manifold that cause this?

Anyone ever had this happen in a stock/cast manifold?

Stock manifold has no room to pool enough I have been told. I haven't heard of anyone blowing up stock manifolds. BUT, with my luck, I might be the 1st/2nd/3rd to do it!

My sheet metal intake survived for a long time using meth befor one too many back fires blew it up, and I had a few backfires with the ported stock intake before I started shifting out of 1st gear at a lower RPM to avoid hitting the rev limiter. I think that if you backfire enough on the stock intake you will cause damage of some kind eventually (blow off vacuum lines, damage to throttle plate, etc..) so avoid the backfires guys

I think you mean that exploding the casting is unlikely; it is obvious that methanol can and does cause backfiring whichever manifold you are using. Still, the next question is what would you rather lose? -- a manifold, a throttle body, or a ring land....
