Help with IX MR TBE

Yes i have searched.

I am almost decided on the Indivia N1 catback b/c i heard this clip.
http://www.gscdownloads.com/InvidiaExhuast

It is just the sound i am looking for but i have some question that i need answered.

1)I heard that the indivia downpipe does not fit with the factory tie bars and i wont a downpipe that i do not need spacers or anything modified to fit. I heard that the PERRIN fits the new IX MR without mods. Is this true and what others fit?

2) Since all the exhausts are made for the 8, what exactly do i need to do with the 02 sensor. I know about the spark plug antifoulers, but will there be a spot on the test pipe to screw it into or do i just try to plug the sensor on the bung on the catback?

3) WHat do you think of indivia exhaust and are the gains good if i go TBE without cat?

all of the exhausts are nice. I personally went with rnr's turboback with highflow cat option, more for the $$ savings, but invidia's are nice as well.
rnr bolts up with no modifications at all, and I still have all factory tiebars with no spacers at all. it was a pita to install, but once on, fits nice and doesn't rattle like my helix did on the evo8.
don't know about the test pipe, as I bought the highflow cat. mine threw a cel within 10 miles of driving, so did the antifouler trick and haven't had a light in 3k miles. helix did the same thing on my 8 and same fix worked.
call rnr racing and they will hook you up if you are undecided. good products and good service. I did the downpipe/hf cat/catback with magnaflow muffler option and sounds nice.
btw, evo9 gsr here..

you will probably get several other responses with other answers on piping, so good luck..

if you use the Invidia cat back there is an O2 bung but Im not sure if the IX's rear sensor will be long enough to reach the bung. I know TTP Engineering's test pipe has a bung specifically for the IX's sensor and their downpipe fits the IX's w/ no issues, + you cant beat the prices.

I just finished my TBE on my IX SE.

I transplanted my Invidia N1 from VIII into my IX. The midpipe to axle back flange almost hits the gas tank heat shield, leaves about 1/4" clearance. I also transplanted Helix DP to my IX. It almost hits ACD, leaves about 2mm clearance.

With our IX, the factory O2 sensor goes into the cat or testpipe. Most aftermarket units do have O2 bung welded on, just confirm w/ the vendor. I am running a Random hiflo cat and it came w/ a bung so I place the factory O2 there.

Also, I wanted to transplant my wideband sensor for AFR reading therefore needed a second bung. Invidia catback's midpipe has one but it's at the back of the midpipe, out of reach for the sensor. But, the midpipe is straight from front to back so I flipped it placing its bung at the front end for my sensor. It worked out perfect for two sensors.

Sound and noise wise, it's quite. It's much quieter after my custom tune, I was pleasantly surprised! But you know Invidia sounds growly and nice! Also, it's muffler tip extends out clearing the bumper.

Power wise, I am at 340whp/342 lbs on 93 octane w/ TBE with hiflo CAT and MBC at 24lbs. That's it! Not bad at all!!! Now, she flys specially on highway. Search my threads for the recent dyno.

BTW, I just purchased Tanabe 2.75" DP brand new, never used. It will fit IX perfectly. Let me know if you want it.

GL

Just flip the midpipe! It's a straight piece. That's what I did to find a second bung for my wideband! I don't you can do this w/ many other catbacks!

yes you can just go to lowes or whatever and get a plug for it. I have a helix dp and it clears with no problems. my hks cat back had a bung in it and thats where the rear o2 sits for now. when i install my wideband ill go ahead and weld a bung into the test pipe and use the bung in the cat back for the wideband...

Yes, plug it up w/ a fitting bolt.

But, I'd recommend that you get a wideband and put it's O2 sensor in there, I like did.

Bolt up whatever you want and custom bend the bars to fit.

Sure this decreases some of the bar's strenth but for the purpose they provide - insignificant
