Hey guys...

I spend a couple hours today installing the new AEM Digital Electronic Boost Gauge that I purchased along with an Autometer Single Gauge Single Steering Wheel Pod. I would like to say that it is a HELL of a gauge and functions perfectly. It seems to be right on with accuracy too

I installed the boost gauge and put the vacuum hose through the hole in the firewall behind the glove box. When I started the car up, I noticed something interesting. When I gave the car gas, I could hear the boost pressure / vacuum from under the glovebox. This is where my pressure sensor is installed. It is not a boost leak though. It holds boost perfectly at reads at 23 psi just like expected.

Do you guys think that it is just the sound of all the pressure since it is close to me in the cabin or is it possibly a problem (leak even though pressure is being read correctly)? Could it be because that I did not replace the grommet and there is a open hole in the firewall that I am just hearing something from the engine bay that I couldnt of heard before because it was insulated?

I installed the gauge with an Autometer Single Gauge Steering Wheel pod. Fitament was ok. I am just curious to know if anyone has ever experenced rubbing and friction of the gauge pod when turning the steering wheel? It also seems not to be long enough on both sides; has anyone experienced that too? How did you fix these problems?

The sound may or may not be normal....hard to say, but if its holding boost exactly at what it supposed to then its probably fine

Are you using the AEM Truboost by any chance???

 

No not the EBC. It is just the Digital Boost Gauge. I think the Truboost is the EBC right? Either way I love it!
