do you have to have a engine management system in order to have a wideband?.....i see all these widebands that do all this tuning, is there not jus a regular wideband o2 without all that stuff that will work without a EMS or somethin like that...jus put it on...or is that the whole point of the wideband, to be able to tune the A/F and everything....

No the wideband logs the AFRs so that you can tune the car around those AFR's

With the advent of so many kickass tuners and their ab ility to disect the sotck ECU. I hardly see a need for an EMS.

All you need for logging is a Wideband + Tactrix Cable + Evoscan.

Send logs to Tuners and you can Eflash by urself

You do not need an EMS.

The wideband logs the information on your PC. The tuner whomever you use, will tune the car based on the information. Give Scott a buzz at www.ttp-engineering.com and he ll set you up good.

Heres an example of the Zietronix ZT2 Wideband. Its logs all the relavant information. I highly recommend this one:

That was done right after I got a new tune flash via email from Scott at TTP. I uploaded it to the ECU and then logged that.

On your new sensor install... add some anti-seize to the threads before installing it.
