Even when using the right tools the thread completly comes out in dust. They are the worst mechanical nightmare for any mechanic.

i too would also like to know this answer because i too also stripped mine while taking off a old exhaust and puttin on a new one....we tried and tried but the sensor seemed to be pretty much welded in place with corosion and rust, so u we ended up jus cuttin the wires to get the dangling pipe off the car, and i would jus buy a new anyways..... and also..would it be better to get a wideband? or does a wideband even mount in the same spot.....i dont think it does from searching but i dunno

The O2 sensor sockets are all from what I've seen 7/8 inch. The 02 sensor in the evos turbo outlet is one of the hardest to get a grip on. I've done many and this is no picnic.

I just checked right now online. The metric ones are 22mm which is the same as 7/8. Its not the size of the socket thats the problem, its getting the damn thing in there with enough maneuvering room.

If its that one, any O2 sensor socket will take it out without a problem .

I check myself between the metric and standard...sometimes one or the other offers a more snug fit.
