Tephra - e85 sensor question
Tephra - e85 sensor question
Tephra,
Would it be possible to drop the front 02 sensor, run open and closed loop off of the rear 02 sensor and use the front 02 sensor input for one of these: http://www.rmsautoparts.com/proddeta...?prod=12570260 (flex fuel sensor).
Then would it be possible to extrapolate between the Main Fuel Map (93 octaine) and the Alt Fuel Map (e85) based on the input from the flex fuel sensor?
Just thinking out loud.

mrfred already has the flex fuel sensor project on his plate. I'm not sure how active he is or has been recently on it, but it's something that has been brought up in the past.
I don't think using the front O2 sensor input would be a good idea, though. Most likely an unused input or rear O2 (out of a choice of front/rear O2 sensor).
I would link you to the thread, but I don't have it handy...but I'm sure a search would find it rather quickly. It's either in this subforum or the alternative fuel subforum.
Edit: Here you go.

All thsi stuff about deleting the front o2 can go away, no need for that. Just will need to use the ADC input that's already used for mapswitching. I think the hang-up here is developing a way to run an interpolated map based off of two existing other maps. It's not just an on/off switch like mapswitching, there's a LOT more involved.
Some day it would be cool to see this come to fruition, but for now, mapswitching is king!
