You ask whats wrong people give you advice to try and fix it but you say you don't want to mess with the springs? Why are you asking then?

The SSQV apparently causes stalling and idle issues on the VIII. The IX is really a different animal altogether when it comes to any form of VTA'd BOV. Getting rid of the diverter valve (the stock unit is not a true blowoff valve) for a normal blowoff valve doesnt seem to have the same effects. I am wondering how many people that are commenting here have blown a pipe off in a IX? You can still drive it, it doesnt immediately die. The only other times I have encountered blown off pipes in MAF equipped cars it meant it was immediately dead and needed fixed before it would even run. Maybe the VIII is more like the IX that way, but I suspect it isnt. I wasnt there at the time, but I know an VIII that lost a clamp at the strip and it was all over till pipe was back on.

ON subject- The greddy BOV are designed to be tightened and if they arent they need to be tightened down. You can safely crank them down a ways to where it will only flutter a little (but not leak) and then PPPSHHHHH at WOT shifting.

i use a crushed 1G on my BR uicp and love it.Fantastic driveability and no fluttering except in 5th gear at about 15psi letting off the gas slowely. If i let off the gas fast i get zero flutter.

have you tried softing the BOV? The fluttering could be from the turbo meaning that the BOV is set to hard and its not venting.

at less the bov that had less problem and will not affect or cause serious damage to the engine ...but at the same time , we got the whossss... sound..haha

biltz?? hks??or greddy?? maybe apexi???

Stick with the stock DV. Like what everybody else says it holds up to 25psi. If you are going to use more boost go with the TiAL BOV or Forge Type RS BOV. If you are still with the stock MAF you need to set the BOVs I just mentioned to recirculation or you will have idle, stalling issues and fluttering. Blow off valves are for speed density set ups or blow through MAFs. It seems to me you just want to hear the whoosh sound no matter what. That's just dumb.

If you are on speed density, boost response will be better with a blow off valve compared to a diverter valve like what the stock 9 has. The reason why BOVs have better boost response is because there will be less turbulence in the intake tract.

If you have the stock MAF stick with a diverter valve, period.

I use a crushed 1G mitsu valve also and spikes a bit over 30 PSI. No problem here. And this vavle's construction is very much the same as the stock IX unit.

I cannot really understand whats the problem with the bov fluttering...

What about all the modifed guys who run hogh boost pressures and racing bovs! i am 100% that these also flutter. That's the way it is...

If you run up to 23psi stay with the stocker, you won't lose. HOWEVER if you run higher boost then you need an aftermarket bov... which can be adjusted... Now my Type-RS is adjustable. When i run 23psi i adjust it accordingly and works just fine. When i up the boost i can easily harden the spring and be just fine again...

If you want the sound without the stalling go for a twin vent like the APS or the GFB Stealth FX...they both work well and give you the sound you desire.
And anyone who thinks its ricey to want a nice sound should take a look in their hypocritic mirror cause anyone with an exhaust bought their specific brand because of how its sounds.
