Help, A/C problem.

I noticed after one of the ac hose lines got pinched between the accessory belt and my licp, my a/c doesn't blow cold air anymore. Part of the hose got eaten by where it was touching the belt. But Im not sure if that hose suppose to have fluid in it, for i did not see any fluid leak where it was damaged. Is this why my a/c doesn't blow cold air anymore? I also noticed my a/c button and condenser button doesn't turn off anymore, they are just on all the time. I have an 03 evo with 44k miles. Also when I turn on the a/c the fan doesn't turn on. I don't remember exactly if it is suppose to turn on or not when the a/c is on. I also notice my rpms doesn't drop anymore when i turn the a/c. What can I do to fix this?

AC lines don't have "fluid" in them as stated it really is a compressed gas like liquid propane or butane, take your pick. Maybe the line leaked and your refrigerant level is 0 psi. There is also oils in your AC system to lubricate the compressor, those oils should be visible if the line was damaged.

Couple things to note here:

1) The AC unit has a low pressure switch to prevent you from burning it up without a proper charge in it which acts to cool the unit off during the compressing stage by drawing in the low pressure, very cold, refrigerant and oils.

2) If the line is damaged and leaked then it needs to be replaced, system brought to a vacuum, then recharged with proper refrigerant. (R134a) and oil if needed. Your AC system is a HIGH pressure device 50-80psi low side and up to 250psi high side. Don't be surprised if the line bursts because of damage.

3) You said the fan also doesn't kick on which could indicate that the fuse or relay is blown the panel should be under the hood labeled on the underside of the panel cover.

4) The AC button as it were stays on with in "Max AC" setting on the temperature side or in the defrost position i believe. Moving the dials out of those two settings may allow you to "turn off" the AC light.

Well I was going to help you out with this one but it seems like roadspike has the bases covered. But just to add to what he said. If you have checked or ifxed all of what he said you might also want to check the Pressure switch itself and see if you might of burned it up.
