We know he's saying a spike - that's what is meant when referring to a certain boost level - it's always a spike.
Turbotoyzz, you said 34psi - not "a spike in the low 30s." Even so, "a spike in the low 30s" is still ridiculous for the stock turbo.
As for you, Dingo, did you even read my initial response? I didn't insult him or say anything harsh. The only thing remotely close to something like that was when I said that if he was saying he wants to push 34psi on the stock turbo (he had not specified yet, so I was guessing), then when combined with his previous very newbish threads, it didn't paint a good picture. That is a very true statement, and it's not insulting, mean, or harsh. It is direct and tough love, but I guess people prefer to be babied and told what they want to hear instead of being told the truth?

wartallon I'll give you that i have heard that many times before "the truth hurts". Sometimes you do have to do that but all Im tryin to say is more often then not You act like a dick to alot of people that ask questions because they did not use the serch button. Granted alot dont use it at all but some didnt even know it was there. You do help alot of people on the forum just try not to be so harsh. About the spike there is a big difference btw being on a stock turbo and doing a spike to 30-31 pounds and tapering to 22 then being on a 35r and running 34 pounds and taper to 30 or whatever.

Yes, many people have done it. Al has done it to many IXs himself in an effort to help reduce taper, but it doesn't improve as much as it did with the old 1G DSM BOVs. It increases surging and doesn't significantly change boost holding efficiency.
We've explained many times how it's done. It's very simple, and there are multiple methods. My preference is to put it in a vice and slowly crush down the head of the bov, which in effect is compressing the spring. You don't want to go so far that the little nipple on the head touches the top ring. If you go too far, you can ruin the whole mechanism.
It will hold whatever you give it. The proper question is how much will it hold efficiently, the answer to which is 24-25psi.

I say let him run the 30+ boost....you asked for advice...people gave it to you...you get made and bash....Yes Warrtalon does come across abrasive but he does have some truth to back it up. I am not taking sides...do as you wish. If It works great....but if it doesnt...you have no one to blame but yourself.
